Assistant Community Resource Coordinator

Description:To assist in the management of the daily activities and services associated with the provision of vocational services in a general Workforce Development setting, as assigned by the Community Resource Coordinator.
Duties:Designated staff in charge of the facility in the absence of the Community Resource Coordinator and/or the Director of Workforce Development. Contacts designated management in cases where needed. Maintains an excellent relationship with current partners and assists in seeking out new partnership prospects for CRC customers. This includes assisting Community Resource Coordinator in providing direct services and scheduled times to man partner offices. Assists other staff with inputting data in the database for the customers who use the CRC. Assists the Community Resource Coordinator with gathering job placement information for customers who have gained employment from the use of the CRC. Assists customers in the development of job search essentials such as resumes, cover letter, completing applications, and developing work portfolios as needed. Assists the Community Resource Coordinator in initiating and maintaining community business contacts in an effort to boost confidence in the services and possible worker pool for businesses seeking employees. Attends training and seminars for Workforce Development. Assists the Community Resource Coordinator in creating marketing literature for the CRC for use in the public and business community. Prepares and compiles all departmental reports and records as required or directed.
Qualifications:Minimum of A.A. degree from an accredited college or university in rehabilitation, vocational evaluation, adjustment services, human services management, sociology, psychology, special education or related field. High school diploma and three or more years of management experience in service-related industry may be considered in lieu of Associate of Arts degree. One year experience in human services. Prefer two to three years of working directly with people, some of which deals with supervisory or managerial responsibilities. Prefer experience working with disabilities and/or other disadvantaging conditions. Must have a valid NC Drivers License, acceptable driving record, reliable transportation and personal vehicle insurance coverage.
